The National
Aeronautics and Space Administration confirmed the news about the computer
virus found on the International Space Station (ISS), identified as Gammima.AG.
At first, the scientists were rather confused, wondering how the virus managed
to get into the system.
The situation is being
handled without any panic, as this isn't their first space virus. "This
is not the first time we have had a worm or a virus," said NASA spokesman
Kelly Humphries during a press conference. "It's not a frequent
occurrence, but this isn't the first time."

This week, NASA confirmed that a virus has infected at least
one computer on the International Space Station.
The malware was detected on July 25 by antivirus software, a
NASA spokesperson informs. The bug is called W32.TGammima.AG and is, as
anti-virus software manufacturer Symantec describes it, a Windows-based worm
which spreads by copying itself onto removable media and steals passwords for
online games.
On Symatec’s website, it is rated as a very low-risk virus.

NASA is considering the possibility of extending the current
space shuttle program until Constellation is ready to take over. It appears that
the agency is determined to find a way to make up for the five year gap that
would limit USA’s access to space, if the space shuttle will indeed retire in
2010, as originally planned.

The hurricane season is far from being over, and September
is likely to bring at least five more named storms, four of which will become
hurricanes, William Gray and Phil Klotzbach from Colorado State University’s
forecast team revealed.
Although they said this should not be considered as a new
seasonal forecast, their predictions don’t look very promising. Two of the four
