Los Angeles - When high-flying Vince Carter went down, rookie Chris Douglas-Roberts stepped up.
Devin Harris scored 21 points and Douglas-Roberts added 18 off the bench as the New Jersey Nets beat the Miami Heat 100-98 in overtime on Thursday night in pre-season play.
The contest was played in Paris as part of an annual NBA Europe Live tour to promote the game globally.

Rome - Brazilian striker Ronaldo told an Italian newspaper that he is planning his comeback from a knee injury and dreaming of participating in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The 32-year-old, who is the all-time World Cup top scorer with 15 goals, was quoted in Friday's edition of Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport daily as saying that he will be back.
"It would be nice to be playing in the World Cup in 2010," he said.
