Sarkozy's EU presidency ends

French President Nicolas Sarkozy wins approval for his leadership at the helm of the rotating EU presidency, which now passes to the Czech Republic. Sarkozy has reaped benefits at home from his EU performance, notably brokering a ceasefire between Russia and Georgia and uniting Europe to face the financial crisis, which helped drag his approval rating back from record lows. Many consider the Czech Republic has a tough act to follow as it takes over the presidency on January 1, 2009. Stefanie McIntyre reports.
