World record holder Paula Radcliffe leads pack of 39,000 runners of the New York City Marathon on Sunday.
Radcliffe won the race through the five boroughs of the New York city twice. In 2004, she won after health problems forced her to drop out of the Olympic marathon in Athens. Last year, Radcliffe claimed her second New York crown less than 10 months after the birth of her daughter.
The runners will begin their journey on Sunday (November 2) in Staten Island at the base of the Verrazano Bridge, and finish in Central Park.
