Thailand Princess Rajkumari Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is given a joyous reception on a visit to villages in the Sivasagar district of northeastern Assam state, India. Princess Sirindhorn visited villages in an effort to strengthen the ties with north-east while interacting with villagers about their culture and livelihood. Tens and thousands of villagers of the Tai Ahom community greeted the princess and artists performed traditional dance and sang songs. She also took part in rituals and offered prayers with the priests of the village.
