President Mbeki to step down

The South African President Thabo Mbeki has agreed to step down after the African National Congress called for his resignation. President Mbeki has been under increased pressure to resign after a High Court judge suggested he may have interfered in a corruption case against the ANC leader Jacob Zuma. Mbeki is expected to leave office in the coming days after an interim leader has been appointed. Liz Kennedy reports.SOUNDBITE: Gwede Mantashe, African National Congress Secretary-General.
