Police quizzed after hostage drama

Brazilian police have been criticised after two women hostages were shot - one critically - during a police rescue attempt in Sao Paulo. Relatives of the victims say 22-year-old Lindenberg Alves was enraged when 15-year-old Eloa Rodrigues, his girlfriend of three years, broke up with him last month. On Monday he took Rodrigues and a friend of hers hostage in her apartment but released the friend two days later - only for her to be returned by police and shot. Sonia Legg reports.
