Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is quoted in an Israeli newspaper saying the Jewish state should quit nearly all occupied land.Helen Long reports. Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says Israel should withdraw from almost all the land it captured in 1967 if it wants peace with Syria and the Palestinians.The remarks, which immediately provoked criticism among Israelis, were published in an interview with an Israeli newspaper on the eve of the Jewish new year.Olmert, who's a caretaker role since resigning over corruption allegations earlier this month, said he was breaking new ground in calling for a broad pullback from the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians hope to establish a state, and in the annexed Golan Heights, which Syria wants back.Helen Long reports.
