The head of police in one of Mexico's most dangerous cities resigns after gangs threaten to kill police officers. Police chief, Roberto Orduna, a former soldier said his decision was an intelligent one based on life over death. Ciudad Suarez is one of Mexico's most violent cities, known for its drug gangs. In 2008, 1600 people were killed in the city. Mexican president Felipe Calderon has been putting senior military staff at the helm of the police forces to clean up the deeply infiltrates drug cartels, who are fighting over smuggling routes to the United States.Basmah Fahim reports.
