Mbeki 'successor' named

South Africa's ruling African National Congress has chosen a caretaker leader to replace Thabo Mbeki. Deputy ANC leader Kgalema Motlanthe has been named as Thabo Mbeki's successor. Mr Mbeki resigned on Sunday after allegations of political interference in a corruption case against ANC leader Jacob Zuma. The new president will hold the post until next year's elections which Mr Zuma is broadly expected to win. Liz Kennedy reports.
