Despite thousands taking part in a simultaneous snowball fight in Budapest, the Guinness World Record for the event remains unbroken.
The current Guinness record is held by the Michigan Technological University with 3,745 participants who set the record in 2006.
According to the organizers, some 5,000 people attended the Budapest event but thousands failed to register properly for the record breaking attempt.
Since Hungary has not had much snow so far this winter the organizers had to import snow from Austria.
The day before the event 140 tons of snow was transported to the scene in six trucks.
