Israeli police suspect an Israeli grandfather who married his daughter-in-law killed his granddaughter and dumped her body in a river.
Investigations into the killing of a 4-year-old Israeli-French girl got underway on Tuesday (August 26) in what Israeli media described as one of the most horrific ordeals in Israel's history.Penny Tweedie, Reuters.SOUNDBITE: Dudi Cohen, Israeli Chief of Police Commissioner, saying (Hebrew) :"The suspect who was arrested provided a number of versions in the early stages of the investigation. At this point, we are focusing on the last version in which he threw a suitcase with the girl's body into the Yarkon River. Of course the suspect may have acted in several possible ways but this is the direction investigators are looking into now."
