A Lebanese man is sentenced to life in prison by a German court for trying to set off bombs on German trains two years ago. Youssef al-Haj Deeb and an accomplice boarded two trains in Cologne, one headed for Koblenz, one for Dortmund, in July 2006 with suitcases containing tanks of propane gas and crude detonators. The bombs failed to go off due to a technical fault, but prosecutors said the planned attacks could have caused up to 75 casualties. Joanna Partridge reports.
