Kidman's plea to end female violence

Nicole Kidman attends a press conference at the United Nations for the "Say NO" campaign bringing an end to violence against women all across the globe. Oscar winning actress announced that more than five million world leaders and ordinary people joined a campaign sponsored by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). The campaign's supporters include world leaders, 188 ministers and over 600 parliamentarians from more than 70 countries. Major focuses of UNIFEM include efforts to curb human trafficking, putting an end to honour killings, and supporting the implementation of laws and policies on violence against women. Since 1997, UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women gave away more than 40 million U.S. dollars in grants to 286 projects in 115 countries.
