Israeli forces say they have bombed a weapons workshop in southern Gaza and targetted a militant in Khan Younis. Palestinians in Rafah say the Israeli army damaged a metal foundry. Israel says it bombed the workshop in response to a rocket fired towards Israel. At least 13 people were injured in further Israeli attacks in Khan Younis. U.S envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell is in the region hoping to broker a long-term ceasefire between the two sides. But the recent violence has threatened to re-ignite a war that Israel began on 27th December. At least 1300 Palestinians were killed and 13 Israelis in the 22-day Israeli offensive. Basmah Fahim reports.
