“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”  is slated for a May 2008 release, nearly 19 years after the third installment, 1989’s “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”

Harrison Ford, now in his 60s, is set to reprise his role as the adventurous archeologist Indiana Jones. Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent are also part of the cast.

Karen Allen returns as Marion Ravenwood, Indy’s love interest and ally in 1981’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Sean Connery has refused to reprise his role as Indy’s father in the fourth installment.

Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas have been especially secretive about the film’s details. It was only in early September that the film’s title was revealed, when Shia LaBeouf visibly enjoyed spilling the beans at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas.
