A Polish man has been detained by police after being accused of imprisoning his daughter for six years and repeatedly raping her.
The police said they arrested the 45-year-old man last week after his 21-year-old daughter sought their help. Teresa Bartosiuk, mother of the girl, spoke to journalists from behind her front door in the sleepy village of Grodzisk in northeastern Poland. Austria was rocked earlier this year by the case of Josef Fritzl, 73, who admitted keeping his daughter imprisoned in a soundproofed basement under his house for 24 years, fathering seven children by her.
