Guadeloupe pay talks suspended

Union leaders and employers failed to agree over French President Nicolas Sarkozy's aid package, delaying talks until Monday. The French Caribbean island has been brought to a standstill after weeks of protests have forced shops, businesses and schools to stay closed. Protesters are asking for a 200-euro monthly increase for poor workers to cope with the rising costs of living on an island that relies heavily on expensive imports. Basmah Fahim reports.
