Girls in Afghan acid attack

Acid is sprayed in the faces of two young sisters on their way to school in Kandahar, Afghanistan. An Afghan official said the girls, who are sisters, had their headscarves pulled off of their heads, and acid was sprayed on their faces. The girls were going to school when they were attacked, one of the girls is sixteen years old. Nobody has claimed responsibility. Under the Taliban girls were not allowed to attend schools, but under president Hamid Karzai's rule, girls are encouraged to have an education. Basmah Fahim reports.
