State of alert declared in several Colombian states as heavy rains and floods devastate region killing crops, cattle and leaving people homeless.
A state of alert has been declared in 26 townships after ten people died by a major mudslide in the Southeastern city of Miranda. Torrential winter rains, destroying over 40,000 hectares of crops, and killing thousands of cattle. The heavy rains, which have been battering the Andean country since mid-September, have killed 44 people and uprooted hundreds of thousands.
