Czech Republic remembers the Soviet occupation in 1968. The people of Prague commemorated on Thursday (August 21) the nights of 20th and 21st of August 1968, when the Soviet army invaded Czechoslovakia. The 'Nezakladnam' (No to the bases) movement which fights against placing the US anti-missile radar in Czech territory organized a happening which reminded people of Czechoslovakia's occupation by Germans in 1939 and Soviets in 1968. Forty years after the event Czech Defence minister Vlasta Parkanova and other state representatives laid wreaths in respect to victims near the Czech Radio building.
