The head of Thailand's army has urged the government to step down and call a snap election as a way out of the current political crisis.
After months of protests which culminated in the storming of Bangkok's main international airport, the head of the Thailand's military has asked the government to dissolve parliament and call new elections.
General Paochinda, who has also called on anti-government protesters to cease their campaign, has denied claims the move amounts to a coup.
The Thai Prime Minister has rejected the calls saying he will continue to work for his country.
