U.S President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush ushered in the holiday season in Washington DC with the annual lighting of the National Christmas tree Several thousand people gathered at a park just south of the White House for the annual ceremony. Bush noted that it was the eight and final time he would be presiding over the ceremony which is now in its 85th year.Pavithra George, Reuters
