Ceremonies have taken place across the UK in remembrance of servicemen and women killed in past and present conflicts. Queen Elizabeth led the tributes at the Cenotaph in London. Also in attendance was British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. This year's service falls two days before the 90th anniversary of the armistice that signalled the end of World War I. Two-minutes silence took place at 1100 GMT in memory of those killed in conflicts past and present. Similar services have been held by troops on active service in Iraq and Afghanistan.
