24 years after the world's worst industrial disaster and survivors of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy's battle for justice goes on.
Hundreds of survivors staged a torch-lit protest outside the now defunct Union Carbide factory to highlight their ongoing fight for justice.
The 1984 disaster unfolded on the night of December 2nd and 3rd, when thousands of tonnes of methyl isocyanate (MIC) leaked out of the pesticides plant, killing thousands of people instantly and maiming several thousands for life.
Almost a quarter of a century on and a second tragedy is unfolding - tonnes of poisonous waste have since contaminated groundwater, affecting a new generation of Bhopal residents.
