Bangkok airport reopens

The first passenger flight lands at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport after anti-government protesters lifted an eight-day blockade. The Thai Airways flight was carrying 305 passengers from the southern resort island of Phuket, and landed at 0715 GMT. Several international flights are scheduled to leave soon after, although it was unclear when full operations would resume. Flights have been diverted to airports outside Bangkok since November 25 leaving over 250,000 tourists stranded.
