The problem is getting Republican Senators to back the $14 billion plan-- and making matters worse -- no one cares what the current White House thinks.
As a result, the lifeline to General Motors, Ford and Chrysler may now have to wait until January 6th-- when the new Congress convenes with Democrats in expanded control of the 100-member Senate.
