According to a statement from Stefani's publicist, Interscope Records, singer and fashion designer Gwen Stefani and her husband, Gavin Rossdale, welcomed Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, their second son, yesterday afternoon.
The new addition to the family was delivered at 12:46 p.m. on August 21 via Caesarean section at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The baby boy weighted eight and a half pounds.
"Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy," Stefani's label said.
Zuma completes the family, being Gwen and Gavin’s second son. His brother, Kingston James McGregor, was born on May 26,2006.
Earlier this season, “Hollaback Girl” singer announced her fans that she had plans to record a new album with “No Doubt.” Adrian Young, the drummer of the rock band, said the album would "hopefully" be released this year. But, at this point, it isn’t known yet if the birth of lead singer Stefani’s second child will delay the album.
Former lead singer and songwriter for the British post-grunge rock band Bush, 40-year-old Gavin, also has a daughter from a previous relationship. At the age of 19, Daisy Lowe is already a famous British fashion model.
The news of the singer’s second pregnancy was involuntarily given by Douglas Rossdale, her father-in-law, in January. “They and the whole family are delighted,” he told People magazine. “We are very much looking forward to another grandchild.”
Gwen Stefani, 38, posted a comment on the band's Web site: "Feels crazy to be pregnant all over again!!!!! We have been spending every day up in the little studio in our house, trying to write music. My favorite part so far is just seeing the guys every day and hanging out. We have so much fun together. The songwriting part is a bit slow on my part. ... I think it has something to do with the baby in my belly, but I'm sure it is all of the process, and I really believe this could be the most inspired No Doubt record so far. Can't wait to see what happens."
