Several rumors surfaced over the Internet about YouTube’s intentions to attract the big media companies to present their content on the popular video sharing Web site by offering a cut of the advertising revenue from Google.

The plan is to get away from all the problems caused by the claims that YouTube is illegally distributing the copyrighted content of these large media companies and offer them a piece of the gained amounts. It would indeed be a good solution for all parts, as the content gets on YouTube and other Web sites anyway and the companies could at least get something out of it, without all the copyright law suits, being able to focus on their other projects. Also, with the help of YouTube, a well-planned ad strategy could bring their content closer to the millions of daily users.

New interesting content means new visitors, who lead to bigger advertising deals, that lead to greater revenue. Google is making great efforts to take YouTube to the visioned financial level that so far has been out of reach. Even though at the time of the aquisition the company’s officials thought that the revenue will pour in from day one, they failed to turn YouTube’s huge popularity into their major revenue source. The potential is still there, as the video sharing page become more and more popular with each passing day. Users upload thousands of videos each day, providing great entertainment for everyone’s taste.

It remains to be seen if the news is indeed accurate and if there is a chance for such partnerships in the future.
