X17 Apologizes For Tony Parker Affair Story

"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria and her husband, Tony Parker, have been issued an apology from paparazzi agency X17 over a bogus report claiming Parker had an affair with a woman he met at their wedding last summer.

In December last year, the agency published a series of reports and text messages alleging that the basketball player had a two-month affair with French model Alexandra Paressant. According to Paressant, the two had been introduced at Parker's wedding ceremony by a common friend.

At that time, both Parker and Longoria released statements denying the allegations, and Parker followed with a lawsuit against X17 claiming the agency "had to know that the story was false, or at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of its supposed source."

"Tony has been nothing short of the perfect husband," Eva said in a statement to People.

"I love my wife," Parker said. "She’s the best thing in my life, and I have never been happier."

The $20 million-seeking lawsuit stated, "Tony Parker has never had sexual relations with a woman named Alexandra Paressant."

Now, almost four months after the stories were leaked, X17 released a statement on its website apologizing to the couple for the story they published admitting that Parker never actually met Paressant after his wedding.

"In December 2007, X17online.com published over ten articles concerning Tony Parker and a woman named Alexandra Paressant. Various of the articles asserted that, after Mr. Parker was introduced to Ms. Paressant by Thierry Henry at [his] wedding to Eva Longoria, Mr. Parker engaged in sexual relations with Ms. Paressant. Since the publication of these articles, X17online.com and X17, Inc. have discovered that Mr. Parker has never met with, or spoken to Ms. Paressant nor has he ever had sexual relations with her. X17online.com and X7 [sic], Inc. regret having been misled by Ms. Paressant and her representatives and apologize to Mr. Parker for any damage or inconvenience this may have caused him or his wife," the statement read.
