Creepy is back!
Organizers of Nottingham's annual games festival GameCity want to break the world record for the number of zombies who perform Michael Jackson's Thriller dance.
All willing and able zombies are invited to break the record set at Monroeville Mall, Pittsburgh, US in November 2007. In order to break the record, at least 1,124 zombies must be there and perform the dance made famous by Michael Jackson.
If you are enthused about the idea all you have to do is to go there. The costumes, make-up and choreography are being taken care of at the Old Market Square.
People who want to be a part of this must turn up by 1400 GMT on Friday to get costumes and a make-up, said GameCity's festival director Iain Simons.
"We can provide you with a zombie kit, we can train you to walk like a zombie, talk like a zombie, shuffle like a zombie.
"We'll train you to do the Thriller dance," said Simons.
The record-breaking attempt is scheduled for 1700 GMT.
The attempt to break this world record comes as Michael Jackson fans are celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Thriller.” Dozens of fans gathered at Madame Tussauds in Times Square to get creepy and perform the classic dance. The song is being celebrated worldwide. 111 people performed the “Thriller” in Hollywood and 800 zombied it up in Austin, Tex.
The pop megastar did not attend the celebrations, but did send a message of support:
"I always thought Halloween and 'Thriller' fit each other like a glove," Michael Jackson told People.com.
