Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s office are
looking for a woman who was videotaped while abusing a child at Magical Carwash
on Bloomfield Drive in Orlando.
The surveillance video shows a woman getting out of a white
4-door sedan, Hyundai Alantra. She put money into a washer machine, while
another woman brought the girl out of the car. The girl is seen struggling to
get away. One of the women held the high-pressure hose in one hand and sprayed the
girl with it. Seeing the incident on the surveillance video, the car wash
manager Marlene Diaz, immediately called the police. She ran out to rescue the
girl, but the car had left.
Diaz told MyFOX Orlando about the harmful action of a
high-pressure hose upon the skin: “It stings, it burns. I've heard stories
where this type of pressure, it forms like a rug burn and can actually take off
the top layer of the skin.”
She told the authorities that the woman was yelling at the
child in Spanish saying, “You're not gonna disrespect me, don't worry I'm not
gonna hit you. I'm just gonna get you with cold water, you're gonna learn to
respect me. You're not gonna treat me bad.”
After applying the harsh punishment on the girl, the women
took her wet clothes off, dressed her with dry ones and put her back in the
car.
Orange County Sheriff's Office Cmdr. Matt Irwin said that "The
girl probably had some kind of accident in the back seat of the car, maybe
urinated or spilled a drink. God knows what kind of punishment she gets
elsewhere.”
The video shows how the girl was sprayed on the chest, legs
and face. The girl is believed to have between 3 and 6 years old. The
investigators said the woman might be the girl’s mother. If found the mother is
likely to face child abuse charges.
