With Chris Bosh back in action, the Toronto Raptors managed to beat the Houston Rockets 93-80, at the Air Canada Centre on Sunday.
After missing the last five games with a strained groin, Bosh helped the Raptors with his 21 points as he hit 7-of-17 shots from the floor and hit 7-of-9 free throws. Toronto ended a two- game slide and won for just the second time in five games.
Kris Humphries also helped with his 16 points and nine rebounds, Carlos Delfino added 12 points and Anthony Parker chipped in with 11. Bosh, one of the NBA's leading rebounders, added 10 boards and four blocked shots. Jason Kapono also finished in double figures with 10 points.
The Raptors couldn’t use their Italian forward Andrea Bargnani. He missed his third game because of a hyperextended left knee.
Toronto out-rebounded the Rockets 48-35.
Tracy McGrady, who formally played for the Raptors, was the one leading in scoring on the other side with his 23 points and also had four assists and three rebounds. Yao Ming had 15 points and six boards and Bonzi Wells scored 12 points
The Raptors started slowly and despite a 22-16 deficit after the first quarter, which then grew to 45-34 at the half, they managed to outscore their opponents 28-11 in the third to earn a six-point lead at 62-56 heading into the final quarter.
After a disastrous third quarter for the Rockets, the Raptors put the game out of reach early in the fourth. Humphries ignited a 17-4 run with a lay-up at the 8:59 mark and later ended it with a jumper with 4:29 left to make it 86-69.
