Winona Ryder is OK.
The actress fell ill while on a flight from Los Angeles to London’s Heathrow Airport.
The Walk of Fame-star-receiving actress – real name Winona Laura Horowitz – fell ill and prompted the plane crew to perform a special landing. Ryder was rushed to a West London hospital "as a precaution." After doctors consulted her she left the hospital, her publicist Mara Buxbaum told the Associated Press.
“[Winona] is fine now,” said Buxbaum. She did not give details about the illness.
According to a British Airways statement, the LAX-Heathrow BA282 flight radioed for priority landing because a female passenger "required medical attention." the crew “looked after” the actress as much as they could and the company’s passenger services staff accompanied her to the hospital.
“We wish her well,” the statement wrote.
Ryder, 37, was taken to Hillingdon Hospital, according to the British media. She was there for about an hour and then was released.
“The bottom line is she is in good health," her publicist underlined.
Winona Ryder is well known for her roles in "Little Women" and "Girl, Interrupted." She was nominated twice for an Academy Award for "The Age of Innocence" and "Little Women." Ryder also appears in the "Star Trek" movie due out in 2009.
The actress tried to keep a low profile after her 2002 felony conviction for stealing merchandise from a Beverly Hills' Saks Fifth Avenue.
