Windows 7, To Be Released in Fall 2009

Windows Vista has created a lot of controversies since its release. Many said it can’t do certain things, others made scandalous affirmations about it, but all of them got involved into saying their own opinions. Yet, Microsoft has got another chance to change all of these bad remarks by releasing the new Windows 7.

The company certainly hopes for Windows 7 to clean the mess that Windows Vista had made and is ready to change some things, too. Instead of trying to convince the customers about the best thing Windows 7 can do, Microsoft now wants to listen to the customers’ opinions first.

Vista meant Microsoft’s trying to understand the negative experiences of the ones who had bought the system and used it. Yet, the security model of Vista disturbed the software and the hardware compatibility thus making its users complain about the things that didn’t work on their computers.

Yet, it still seems that Microsoft hasn’t had enough of the bad remarks of Vista’s users so when a pair of Windows 7 beta testers had reported security flaws in the system’s UAC, Microsoft used the already popular “that’s the way UAC was designed” sentence.

Fortunately, the company didn’t try to play this game with its costumers, but with its developer community. In addition, Microsoft didn’t just say that, but it also proved that it can admit to a problem and it can also try to fix the issues with Windows 7 UAC.

As Jon DeVaan, senior vice president of the Windows Core Operating System division at Microsoft, and Steven Sinofsky, senior vice president for the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group, said, Microsoft would fix the UAC problems in the Windows 7 Release Candidate.
