It seems that Microsoft still has problems with keeping its beta releases safe, as a Bit Torrent website already hosts a new Windows 7 beta version. The file name is “Windows 7 M1 Build 7000” and it is supposed to be the public beta release of Windows 7 that is planned to be officially released to the mass-market in January.
A reviewer from ZDNet posted some of its impressions about the new release. According to him, the new build of the operating system seems to be more stable and has noticeable improvements regarding memory optimization. Furthermore, while the pre-beta version released in October, the new one has more of its new features enabled by default, such as the Superbar. The Superbar is replacing the classic taskbar of earlier versions of Windows and is more versatile and, usually, easier to use.
However, the reviewer pointed out that Microsoft hasn’t put any new features since the last build of Windows 7. He added that this might mean that the Redmond giant is more or less ready to release the final version of the OS in mid 2009.
The reviewers of the new beta version agreed that this is the most stable beta version ever issued by Microsoft, but they still pointed out that Windows 7 M1 it is still not reliable enough to be the user’s main operating system.
