According to the
Dutch developer Engine Software, WiiWare would launch within less than three
months. Engine Software, which is
currently working on Nintendo DS games GoPets: Vacation Island
and Dragon Hunters, said that WiiWare would launch in March and that they
already started working on the first WiiWare game, called Project Bang! Engine
Software described this title as a “casual game type with very addictive
gameplay” that could be played by one or two users using the Wii Remote.
Called Wii
Software in Europe, WiiWare represents
Nintendo’s upcoming downloadable games service, the Japanese company’s answer
to rival Microsoft’s Xbox Arcade and Sony’s PlayStation Network similar
services. The famous Japanese company did not confirm Engine Software’s report by
saying only that the company “has not made any official announcement regarding
the launch of the WiiWare service.” Nintendo previously announced that it would
launch WiiWare in “early 2008.”
The Netherlands-based
developer Engine Software’s previous works include The Suite Life of Zack &
Cody: Circle of Spies, High School Musical: Livin' The Dream for GBA on
Nintendo DS, and contributing work on the DS version of Puzzle Quest: Challenge
of the Warlords.
