Another lawsuit was filed in connection with the fiery plane crash in which Travis Barker and DJ Adam Goldstein were involved a few months ago. Otilia Villar Baker, the widow of Travis Barker's assistant who died in the tragic crash sued several aviation companies and the estates of two pilots.
The widow of Chris Baker filed suit on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior court accusing the defendants of negligence and wrongful death. Otilia Villar Baker claims that the aviation companies are responsible of the plane crash which killed four people, including the pilots, on September 19 in South Carolina.
The two musicians, Travis Barker and DJ Adam Goldstein (a.k.a. DJ AM) were the only survivors of the crash but suffered severe burns and went through a series of hospitals and very painful treatments.
Otilia Villar Baker also filed suit on behalf of her son Sebastian claiming that the pilots "negligently decided to abort and/or reject the takeoff," according to TMZ.com. According to documents filed in court, Ms. Baker alleges that the pilots were aware of the fact that the plane’s tires were faulty, but carried out the take off anyway. It’s a fact hard to believe if you ask me. The pilots died in the crash and were probably also aware of how dangerous a take off with faulty tires meant, never mind an eventual landing.
Besides the aviation companies (Clay Lacy Aviation, Bombardier Inc., Global Exec Aviation and Inter Travel & Services) that owned the jet chartered by Barker and Goldstein, Baker’s widow also sued Goodyear Tire and Rubber. Travis Barker already did that in November, but he left the estates of the pilots out of it.
Otilia Villar Baker seeks damages for the pain and anguish her husband suffered before his death, which occurred slowly and was very painful.
