The FDA announced that people should avoid consuming weight loss products, as they may contain ingredients that are not posted on the label and which can cause serious health problems.
These products are sold in some retail stores and over the internet, and people are tempted to buy them because they claim to be all natural, only made out of herbs. On a more careful inspection, the products contain ingredients that are not posted on the label, these ingredients ranging from anti-seizure medication to substances that are suspected to be highly carcinogen.
The FDA warned people to be careful when buying Fatloss Slimming, Japan Lingzhi 24 Hours Diet, 7 Day Herbal Slim, 999 Fitness Essence, Imelda Perfect Slim, Perfect Slim, ProSlim Plus, Slim Express 360, Superslim, Venom Hyperdrive 3.0, 2 Day Diet, 5x Imelda Perfect Slimming, 8 Factor Diet, Extrim Plus, Lida DaiDaihua, Perfect Slim 5x, Royal Slimming Formula, Slimtech, TripleSlim, 3x Slimming Power, 3 Day Diet, 7 Diet Day/Night Formula, GMP, Miaozi Slim Capsules, Phyto Shape, Slim 3 in 1, Somotrim, and Zhen de Shou.
Some of these weight loss products contain sibutramine (a controlled substance), rimonabant (a drug not approved for marketing in the United States), phenytoin (an anti-seizure medication), and phenolphthalein (a solution used in chemical experiments and a suspected cancer-causing agent).
The question is if anyone is willing to give up their health for the promise of losing some weight. The logical answer is surely no, and such warnings are pretty clear. The FDA announced that through the commercialization of these products the public’s safety is in jeopardy.
