Even if the legal situation surrounding the release of “Watchmen” and the court battle between Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox seems to be over once that the first will release the comic book movie, maybe the drama which revolves around the picture isn’t really over yet.

Still, it’s a fact that “Watchmen” will be released by Warner Bros., as planned, on March 6, 2009. After a long trial between the two companies and their fight on which one of them owned the rights to the story, the judge gave Warner Bros. back its project.

On Thursday, Fox’s efforts to prove Warner Bros. that they had the ownership rights weren’t for granted. The $130 million adaptation of the graphic series with the same name was said to be Fox’s when the company filed suit in February 2008, when the shooting for the movie hadn’t even begun.

The terms of the trial hadn’t been disclosed and none of the companies wanted to make any further comments on the issue on Friday. Yet, the people involved in solving the argument stated that after Warner will get back a certain amount of money after the movie is released, Fox might get 8.5% of them. In addition, if the tickets sale is lower than expected, the percentage will also lower.

Further on, Fox will receive the $1.5 million which it had invested in developing the movie and Warner will have to settle Fox’s multimillion-dollar legal bill. In addition, a piece of a statement said that Warner Brothers Company knew that Fox had all the rights to bring in these claims.

But we aren’t sure yet if these problems are solved and Warner releases the movie while Fox gets its money. Maybe none of them will give up as fans fear that this argument will cause the delay of the movie release.
