Los Angeles (dpa) - Suddenly, the streaking Boston Celtics are slumping.
Stephen Jackson scored 15 of his game-high 28 points in the final quarter, and Italy's Marco Belinelli added 22 as the Golden State Warriors sent the visiting Celtics to back-to-back losses for the first time this season with a 99-89 victory on Friday night.
"We played hard and found a way to get it done against a great team," said Jackson, who had missed the last four games with a sprained right hand.
"We just fought the whole way and it shows when we play hard and stay together good things will happen."
The defending champion Celtics began their four-game West Coast trip with a 27-2 record - the best start in NBA history - while riding a franchise-record 19 consecutive victories.
But the LA Lakers ended that run on Christmas Day before being stunned by the struggling Warriors (9-22).
"We knew they lost to the Lakers," said Warriors forward Kelenna Azubuikie, who contributed 10 points off the bench. "We just wanted to get them while they were hopefully down."
Paul Pierce scored 21 points, while Rajon Rondo had 11 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Celtics (27-4) who were outscored 35-17 in the final frame.
"I can't say we played bad," said Celtics Ray Allen, who finished with just seven points. "But the games we lost, there has been a point in the fourth quarter where we couldn't get shots."
The Warriors trailed 72-64 entering the fourth quarter. However, Jackson made three free throws after drawing a foul from Allen to cap a 25-6 surge and put the hosts ahead, 87-78 with 4:23 remaining.
The Celtics pulled within 89-84 after Pierce made one-of-two free throws with 2:11 left.
However, CJ Watson buried back-to-back jumpers, Jackson sank both free throws, and Rony Turiaf (14 points) hit four more to seal the improbable win.
