Starting today, these people will be able to get free treatment at Walgreen’s in-store Take Care clinics for respiratory problems, allergies, infections and skin conditions, among other ailments.

 

“Walgreens and Take Care Health Systems strongly believe that a family’s health care needs should not take a backseat to the economy. Take Care Clinics were founded on the principle of providing patient-focused care and doing all that they can to help every patient in the communities they serve,” Hal Rosenbluth, president of Walgreens’ health and wellness division and chairman of Take Care Health Systems, said in a statement.

 

Free consultations and treatment will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

 

Roughly 1.25 million people have visited Take Care clinics since they opened more than three years ago. Take Care Health Systems runs more than 330 in-store clinics and also operates clinics at nearly 370 work sites.

 

Such an offer comes at a time when people confront more and more with the results of the economic crisis when the rate of unemployment has dramatically increased leaving many families without the possibility of taking care of their children. Hopefully, other companies will follow the example…
