Vince Vaughn: "Real, Genuine Connection" with Jen

Actor Vince Vaughn found his romantic life to be of great public interest when he and Jenifer Aniston became a couple, one year after the actress’s divorce from Brad Pitt; he says that despite their own break-up in 2006, he and Jen still have “a great friendship.”

Vince Vaughn tells Parade magazine in this Sunday’s edition that although his romantic relationship with Jennifer Aniston did not work out, the two remain close friends and talk “constantly.”

“I have such a great friendship with Jennifer,” the 37-year-old actor tells the magazine. “Really, I still talk to her constantly. I have a real, genuine connection with Jen. And I have a real appreciation of her. That continues to this day.”

The two actors met on the set of their romantic comedy “The Break-Up,” which was released in the summer of 2006, and continued the on-screen romance off-screen for more than a year.

Their loving liaison received much publicity, as it came after the ending of Jennifer and Brad Pitt’s seven-year marriage. Brad had become Angelina Jolie’s partner and father to her then-two children, Maddox and Zahara. Things were finally looking up in the romance department for Jen as well.

It was not to last though, as Vince and Jennifer broke up after one and a half years of dating. The actor tells Parade that they have nevertheless remained close.

“I haven't been someone to go and talk about those things, because that's not what I want to be known for,” he adds. “In regular life, people date, and sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't. We get more attention because we're more known.”

While Vince’s private life has not been as showered with attention as during his relationship with Jennifer, his movie career has been doing well.

In 2007, he appeared on the big screen in two quite antithetic movies: Sean Penn’s critically acclaimed “Into the Wild,” where he joined a cast including Emile Hirsch, Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt and Jena Malone; and “Fred Claus,” a holiday comedy that was panned by movie critics but did well at the box office.

He next appears in “Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights--Hollywood to the Heartland,” which chronicles the tour he made with four stand-up comedians, performing 30 shows in 30 days.

He is currently filming “Four Christmases,” a romantic comedy holiday film where he stars opposite Reese Witherspoon, Sissy Spacek and Mary Steenburgen. The film is to be released this year.
