Her husband wants to be head of state, but she definitely is
the head promoter of high fashion. Potential future First Lady Michelle Obama
topped Vanity Fair’s 2008 International Best Dressed List, being acclaimed for
her lustrous style for the second year in a row.
This year seems to be politically inclined even when talking
about fashion as the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, was named to
the list for the first time.
Other prominent women on the list included “Sex and the
City” fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker, who, although mole-less, has not lost
her sense of style, beautiful Angelina Jolie, “Chronicles of Narnia” star Tilda
Swinton and Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton.
While soccer symbol David
Beckham is considered to be one of the world’s best dressed men, his
spouse, ex-Posh Spice, was not named to this year’s Vanity Fair list. Moreover,
007 agent Daniel Craig made his debut
in the top, where he is accompanied by rapper Kanye West and “Today” show anchor Matt Lauer.
For the second consecutive year, fresh parents Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie make the Best Dressed Couple List in the 69th annual style poll.
The top is conceived by the magazine’s editorial staff and will
be released in the September issue of Vanity Fair, due to hit the newsstands on
August 1.
