It appears that everybody wants a piece of vampire/werewolf action. The “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens seems to be interested as well, therefore she has auditioned for the part of werewolf Leah Clearwater in the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” according to Ashley Green, who played Alice in the movie.

 

In the Stephenie Meyer novels, Leah is her pack's only female werewolf. Unlike Hudgens's character Gabriella in “High School Musical,” Leah experiences heartbreak, being ditched by classmate Sam Uley who also plays the part of a werewolf.

 

The information about the cast has not been confirmed yet, but it might explain what the young actress was doing posing earlier this week at a Golden Globes swag suite with Taylor Lautner, the actor just confirmed to return as Jacob Black.

 

Recently, MTV took a poll over who would fit best for the role of Leah: the 20 year-old Hudgens or “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” star Brenda Song. Each actress achieved 31 percent of the votes, but the first has the support of eventual co-star Ashley Greene who told MTV that she thinks Vanessa would be great for the role.
