Vanessa Hudgens Back On Board

"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens has reportedly signed to reprise her part in the upcoming third movie, despite her recent underage nude picture scandal.

According to Us Weekly, contrary to the mass of reports sparked by OK! Magazine claiming the picture scandal caused Disney to drop Hudgens from "High School Musical 3," the actress will be back on screen alongside Ashley Tisdale and on-screen (and real-life) boyfriend, Zac Efron, although the deals haven’t yet been signed.

"Vanessa is locked for the movie," a HSM3 source was quoted b the magazine as saying. "She is very happy that the deal is done."

And that’s not all, the actress will reportedly receive a big pay raise as well!

"The contract will be signed within the next week," a source close to Hudgens confirmed while a Tisdale source says: "It is almost a done deal."

However, OK! Magazine highlights the fact that the deal isn’t signed yet, and Hudgens’ rep said about the deal that "It's still in negotiations. CLOSE, but still in negotiations."

Naked pictures of the 18-year-old actress emerged online in September while she was engaged in negotiations for the third High School Musical, leading to speculation that Hudgens would be replaced by either Adrienne Bailon or Sabrina Bryan, both members of Disney Channel's the Cheetah Girls.

"I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken those photos," Hudgens said in a statement at the time, while Disney excused "what was obviously a lapse in judgment," adding: "We hope she’s learned a valuable lesson."

Shooting for the upcoming movie, which will follow the teens through their senior year at East High, as they sing and dance their way to graduation, is expected to start in January.
