A representative for singer Usher has recently announced that the latter’s wife Tameka Foster was recuperating from surgery in Brazil.

Publicist Simone Smalls further informed that Foster’s condition was stable after she had suffered complications resulting from routine surgery in Brazil, adding that Usher was with his wife at the hospital.

Nevertheless, no other details were offered, Smalls having said in the statement she made that the family requested privacy during difficult times.

Saturday night, Usher was scheduled to perform at a pre-Grammy party honoring music mogul Clive Davis, but he bowed out of the event by virtue of what Davis called a serious family ailment.

R&B star Usher, 30, married Tameka Foster back in August 2007, while the couple has two children, 2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 2-month-old Naviyd Ely Raymond.

Usher rose to fame in the 1990s, when he released the multi-platinum album „My Way” and „8701.”

After that, his success continued with the launch of his breakthrough album entitled „Confessions,” which manged to sell more than a million copies in the United States when it debuted.

Ever since, Usher has sold a total of approximately 35 million albums worldwide, while he has also earned five Grammy Awards.

Last year, the singer was ranked into the All time Hot 100 Artist by Billboard magazine, which made him one of the few artists of his generation to score a position on that list.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Usher has sold over 20.5 million copies of album in the United States.
