R&B star Usher and wife Tameka Foster are extending
their happy family. The couple is expecting their second child, reports People magazine
on its website, citing a “source close to the singer.”
Usher and Tameka Foster married in August last year and
welcomed son Usher Raymond V in November 2007. The singer has been profuse, as
many a new dad before him, in expressing the joyousness he feels as a father.
It was only last month that he told People he was very
pleased at having welcomed a child into his life while still a young man. “I’m
so proud to be a father by the time I’m 30,” the 29-year-old singer said. “I’d
hate to be 80 years old and not be able to run with my kids. I need to still be
able to do flips when they’re in high school!”
Earlier this summer, the proud (and eloquent may I add) papa
told Essence magazine that his little boy represented an “extension of his union”
with Foster.
The union is about to be strengthened, should the rumors
prove to be facts. People’s source said Foster had attended her hubby’s NFL
kick-off concert in New York
on Sept. 4 wearing a “very deceiving” dress that artfully camouflaged her
belly.
The singer has yet to confirm his wife’s pregnancy.
He has confirmed other news though. It was only a week ago
that the artist revealed to the Associated Press his plans to kick off one very
special tour: the One Night Stand Tour, exclusively for his female fans.
Commenting that his latest album, “Here I Stand,” was “definitely….
more intimate,” Usher, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, said he could think
of no better way “to get up close and personal than to make it all women?”
Besides, the ladies “like to see that masculine build” and “question
if I still got it,” he added. And so he is more than willing to prove he does still
have it.
Baby, check; flourishing career, check; reunion with
manager-mom, check. Yes, back in August, Usher and his manager of one year, Benny
Medina, parted ways, and the singer reprised his professional collaboration with
momager Jonnetta Patton.
He seems to be in a good place at this time.
