Usher Comes Back with Mature 'Here I Stand'

Usher, 29, has released today his 'Here I Stand' album which shows a new, more mature, side of the singer. The five-time Grammy winner has dedicated his latest album to his wife Tameka Foster and their child, Usher Raymond V. Thus the same sensuous feelings that Usher has gotten us used to have now been expressed in a different, marriage-centered way.

Usher originally hoped to release the album back in November 2007. The cover shows a license plate 1126, the date of his son's birth. Reviews so far have been mixed. The critics are mostly annoyed by the whole maturing theme, as Usher insists on his evolution from player to husband and father. They also are not happy with the apparent lack of energy.

"That's the problem with babymaking ballads: Once they create actual babies, the romance is dead," writes The Rolling Stone's Melissa Maerz.

However, the album is a success in that it explores a much broader range of emotions. Sex remains the center, but it is also balanced by more profound feelings which eventually push the album's overall quality higher, compensating for an apparent lack of musical inspiration at times.

The track list is as follows:

1 "Intro"
2 "Love in This Club" (featuring Young Jeezy)
3 "This Ain't Sex"
4 "Trading Places"
5 "Moving Mountains" (featuring The-Dream)
6 "What's Your Name?" (featuring will.i.am)
7 "Prayer For You (Interlude)"
8 "Something Special"
9 "Love You Gently"
10 "Best Thing" (featuring Jay-Z)
11 "Before I Met You"
12 "His Mistakes"
13 "Appetite
14 "What's a Man to Do"
15 "Lifetime"
16 "Love in This Club, Part II" (featuring Beyoncé and Lil Wayne)
17 "Here I Stand"
18 "Will Work For Love" (Hidden Track)
