Users get rid of iPhone Apps in One Day, Study Says

It might be quite surprising to find out that a new research pointed out that users tend to throw away download programs from the App Stores in less than a day. The study, coordinated by the research firm Pinch Media, analyzed the usage pattern of the most apps available on the App Store, reaching to a few remarkable conclusions.

First, the research revealed that less than 30 percent of the users who download a paid application would actually use it again during the following day. The matters are even worse, as only five percent of the users return to a certain application after 20 days. Predictably, only a mere one percent of the users will keep a certain app on their iPhone for more than two months.

Suffice to say, the situation of the free applications on the App Store is worse. The researchers added that games are generally much more popular than other apps, along with other controversial apps, such as iFart and the iBoobs.

The study revealed that an application would gain almost twice more users, once it is on one of the Top 100, Top 25 or Top 10 list.

Nevertheless, the study made many analysts to wonder whether the App Store’s business plan sacrifices quality for quantity. Most of the apps available are either free or come at a price tag of a few dollars, so users do not usually regret if the app isn’t what they expected it to be.

Overall, while some users would like more complex apps on their iPhone than currency converters and simple games, the fact is that the community will literally embrace whatever the developers release. Hence, there is no doubt that the number of downloaded apps will further increase, along with Apple’s revenues.
